Nancy R. Hiller is a cabinetmaker who has published in numerous period design and woodworking magazines, including American Bungalow, Old House Interiors, and Fine Woodworking. Since 1995, Hiller has operated and been principal designer at NR Hiller Design, Inc. She lives in Bloomington, Indiana.

Just couldn't enjoy this writer.

I ordered this book in hopes of acquiring more information on Seller's Hoosier cabinets. While this book is informative I just couldn't get into Ms. Hiller's style of writing. I finally just looked up the pages that referred to the Seller's cabinet and read those and looked at the photos. It does offer lots of insight into the lives of families at the time of the Hoosier heyday, it was not what I was looking for as far as brand information. It is a nicely presented hardback book but with few color photos.

Decent plot

I have read most of Ms Blacio`s books. The premise and story are almost always engaging, but some of the editing issues can jar a reader from the story. The concept was interesting and I can see that Ms Blacio is setting this up to be book one in a series. I would not recommend you read this book or any others if you are bothered by spelling, grammar, or other editing issues. Overall it was an interesting take on Old Man Winter.

Una (buenisima) historia real

Una buenisima historia que nos lleva desde el Uruguay de los '20 hasta el Paris de los '50, siguiendole los pasos a Enrique Amorim, el supuesto amante de Lorca y "groupie" original de las artistas de la vanguardia de la epoca.

Muy bien hecho Roncagliolo!

This faux-biographer is no García Lorca fan.

Este libro interesa principalmente por referencia a momentos histórico-culturales, pero Santiago Roncagliolo se refiere a García Lorca con un dejo de desprecio y una evidente intención de tumbar al ídolo del pedestal. No sabemos, por su descripción, si sus alegatos están verdaderamente fundados en un hechos innegables o en deducciones y sospechas. Se ampara principalmente en observaciones subjetivas y obviamente tendenciosas de gente que no estaban impresionados con García Lorca para describir las actividades de éste en Buenos Aires: lo mejor que dicen del poeta es que era arrogante, egocéntrico y vago. Luego toma aseveraciones sin fundamento ni prueba como realidad: por ejemplo, que Entrique Amorim haya dicho que tenía enterrados en Salto los restos de García Lorca no representan evidencia contundente de nada.

En las primeras 20 páginas del texto, Roncagliolo afirma que no hay versión completa de la obra dramática surrealista de García Lorca, "El público". Esta obra tuvo su estreno mundial en abril del 1978 en el Teatro de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, promovida por mi amigo el doctor Juan Antonio Rodríguez Pagán. La obra se presentó tan completa como el texto en que se basó.

Una vez leí esa referencia incorrecta de Roncagliolo, se me aniquiló la presunción de veracidad del resto del libro.

He gives clear, practical advice and a true vision to accomplish the curriculum goals of any school as a team leader. Honing one's own intuitive sense, and skills of communication, trouble shooting, prevention of foreseeable problems, and motivation of teachers toward a common goal are only a few of the accomplishments of this book. The author addresses differentiated curriculum, much needed today with our increasingly diverse student population in the regular classroom. I was impressed with his varied and incremental approach to change when faced with resistance by teachers or administrators. Time and again, the author demonstrates that good intuition coupled with a tireless and thorough effort yield results in higher student achievement and test scores. If team leaders follow the approach of this book, their students, teachers and whole school will benefit. With the "No Child Left Behind" Act and high stakes testing now in place nationwide, this book is vital and gives the proper frame to accomplish any school's goals.

Good book!

I had to buy this book for a class. It has some great ideas for school wide leadership by using teacher leaders. The book correctly points out that administrators come and go, but teachers are usually there for much longer. So it makes more sense for teachers to take more of a leadership role.
I would recommend this book.

I gave it a 4 because I don't know if there's anything revolutionary about it's approach, but it does make some good points and make us notice things that were in front of us the whole time.

"To be a good investor, first you have to Know Thyself!" Here's the book on Psychology that I feel is a necessary part of developing a proper Contrarian attitude! From Tulips to Turtle Bay, from Merchant Ships to Market Timers Mr. Dreman tells the tales of market speculation and zealous investing.
Your reading it doesn't require a degree in Psychology. The book will help you understand just what the true meaning of Fear and Greed are, relative to investing. From that basis Mr. Dreman then gives some suggestions on value and contrarian investing. The stories told will look somewhat familiar to the investor that's been through a couple of market cycles. He does a great job of describing the giddy feeling we get in a raging bull market and the gut wrenching agony of a Kodiak Bear's mauling.
A couple of mutual funds now carry the Dreman name. This adds a bit of weight to how important contrarian investing really is. It is very easy to lose sight of reality when the market is either in a strong bull or bear phase. Having guideposts along the way helps to keep our exuberance rational! This book is as important to read as any on investing.

A bit pricey for it's size

I was excited to get this book and use some of the ideas for Christmas cards. I was a bit disappointed when I actually saw it. It is a very small book with under 50 pages costing almost $17.00. What is sort of neat and confusing at the same time is that the instructions are in four different languages. It has some ideas to use beading with the stitching. If you are looking for a book that says "WOW! I can use alot of these ideas, this isn't the book for you. I would rate this as just an ok type of paper embroidery book. Not excellent, not completely bad either. Just ok.

I have enjoyed this book very much. Came in excellent condition. I need more ideas for my christmas cards and this is a great thing to do.
