An excellent introductory testing book

As the title indicates, this book is an excellent guide to language testing. Henning makes great efforts to explain technical testing terms in very plain language. He covers almost all important aspects in testing, especially reliability and validity. His analysis is clear, detailed and thorough. Where computation is involved, a general introduction of the formula is followed by specific examples, which readers can understand without trouble.
Chapter 4¡ªItem Analysis: Item Uniqueness is very helpful, especially 4.1 Avoiding Problems at the Item-Writing Stage, which, in fact, can serve as a checklist for those who write or edit test items.
Henning gives a summary at the end of each chapter, which not only makes his structure very clear, but also helps readers recapture what they have read in the chapter and get prepared for the following one.

Edmund T. Rolls is Professor of Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford, and a Fellow and Tutor of Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He read preclinical medicine at the University of Cambridge, and now performs research in neuroscience at Oxford. His research links neurophysiological and
computational neuroscience approaches to human functional neuroimaging and neuropsychological studies in order to provide a fundamental basis for understanding human brain function and its disorders. He is author of The Brain and Emotion (1999, Oxford University Press), with A.Treves of Neural

These are great book.it helps you submerge your mind into spanish. It introduces new words little by little making a dictionary almost unnecessary.

helped me get into the flow

I've been learning Spanish for over a year, motivated by my daughters' Spanish husband. I have many apps that are helpful, but this book, though a juvenile story, has helped me with translating and verbalizing sentences and dialogues. For the level that I am at, "Easy" Spanish novel was perfect. I would have given 5 stars if the story was more interesting.
